Where has the time gone?!

It has been a looooong 6 months since I last posted....so here is a quick recap....

April - Kin had a fantastic Easter and mommy worked on some wedding plans...

May - Kin had her 15 month dr appointment. She's not growing as much or a quickly as she used to but she is thinning out...must be from all that walking. Lots and lots more wedding stuff!!!

June - We got married!!! Hooray!!! Kinley's mommy and daddy are married finally and super happy. We had the cutest little flower girl and ring bearer EVER!!!

July - We celebrated the 4th of July in Branson on our honeymoon with friends and family. We watched AMAZING fireworks from the lawn at Big Cedar (where we were married) and then walked home. Kinley even enjoyed the fireworks while hiding behind David.

August - Kin had her 18 month dr appointment. She's doing great in every aspect. The dr asked me how many words she knows and the only answer I could come up with was "all of them?" He didn't undestand. This little lady can talk your ear off and ask for things in sentences (2-4 word sentences). She's getting tall and skinny. Well not too tall, but tall enough :)

Also we're going to have to change the name of the blog to growing some greeniebaums :) Kinley's going to be a big sister in March!!! We're so excited and can't wait to find out if she's going to have a baby brother or sister! I'm really just super excited for another little tiny!!! She's also getting 2 more cousins!!! One in January (maybe December - I'm really hoping that it's while we're there over Christmas break) and one in March (unless the baby decides to take after big brother Keiryan and come early in February)!! So excited!! Congrats Cole & Morgan and Keith & Marv!!! I think Kinley's grammy and grampy are going to be on baby overload :). What can we say...

September - Hrm...I'm not sure about September. Not a lot has happened. Kin got a pretty bad cough and we're still fighting it. On our 4th week of coughing and last day of antibiotics! I'm hoping that it continues to go away. It's a lot less frequent, but we're still cough-choke-puking :(

We did get her pictures taken from her winning the fresh faces contest with the amazing Clarissa Stagg Photography!! They are so amazing. Thank you to everyone that helped her win!! And thank you to Clarissa for taking such great photos. Kinley loves you and your girls more than you know! (Clarissa also watches Kinley and does an amazing job at that too!!! We love her and her girls!)

October - Mommy is FINALLY starting to feel better!!! I've even had a few days without throwing up! I  had a burst of energy and super cleaned the whole downstairs. I think daddy was in shock!! And now my head is exploding with sinus pressure. That's okay though! I will take some relief over none. I've even gained a whole pound!!! Baby is doing good. I've been feeling kicks from the inside for a couple weeks and can finally feel them outside! I can't wait for Kin to be able to see and feel mommy's belly. I think it will help her understand.

Kinley is a monster!! She has been practicing her skills at testing mommy and daddy's patience and I think she's finally honed them. Everything is why or no. ME: Kinley will you please put your diaper in the garbage? KIN: Why??? ME: Because it's yucky and needs to be thrown away. KIN: NO!!!! and she's off somewhere else doing her own thing. Oye vey. The kid's got attitude. She can also carry on a conversation pretty easily these days. We're working on learning her colors and numbers. She also loves her shapes puzzle. I think triangle is her favorite shape so far. And for being sucha monster she's a sweetie. She is very good with her manners saying thank you mommy thank you daddy. Please. Your welcome and bless you. Most of the time without any prompting. She's such a lover and pulls you in saying Mommy I need kiss. I need hug :) And she never wants anyone to be sad. Even in movies. Daddy why tangled sad? Her crying :( What a lover!!!

So I think that's enough information overload for now, I'm sure I missed plenty. I will update again before the end of October and have a pictures post to recap the summer!! Can't believe how big our little girl is getting!

Singing & dancing
Babies & stuffed animals

Laughing
Dipping her food into ketchup, ranch, milk, etc

Least Favorite Things:
Diaper changes

The favorites far out-weigh the least favorites and we try to make a game out of diaper changes/nose wiping to make it more fun for her. I'm sure we missed things on both lists, but hey - you get the idea. And if you've ever had a toddler you know how busy they keep you.

Watch for a post on words and teeth and all things mouth related coming soon :)

Hoppy Easter

Happy (late) Easter!!! We had a great 2nd Easter this year. Granted...we've been having Easter our whole lives, but this year we had a real Easter. REAL Easter meaning Kinley could actively enjoy and be a part of Easter!! Hooray!!!

Rewind a few days...Kinley's TT came into town and spent a few days with us and surprised her grandpa that she was here for Easter yay!!! ANDD her Uncle B lives her now so we had the WHOLE famdam together for Easter!

Easter morning Kinley was brought downstairs to a fantastic surprise!!!! The Easter Bunny came!!!

A few of my Favorite things (right now)...

In no particular order...
Being a mom
Family bike rides
Kinley's funny faces
Kin's love and affection of animals
Kinley and Dadda playing on the slide
New jogging stroller (Kinley's favorite too)
Kin's independence, but still wanting snuggles
Open-mouthed-tongue-sticking-out toddler kisses
Ice-blue/green eyes that make my worst days fantastic
Our family - all 5 of us (Dadda, Momma, Kinley, Gus, and Mr. Fish)
Little wiggle running for the garage as the door opens (Dadda's home!!)
Kinley's giggles as Gus chases her through the kitchen, or as she chases him
Hearing DUUUUCKEEEEE CRRRCKKK CRRRCKKK at sliding glass door
Kinley playing peek-a-boo by crouching down behind the ottoman and popping up so excited
Hearing "UH-OH" in a cute little-loud girly voice usually following a crash, boom, or other loud noise
Kin's knack for repeating many of the words she hears (I have a feeling this will cause embarrassment at a later date)

just a few...at this time in my life. These things fill my heart with joy.

She's 1!!!!!

Oh my oh my how the time has flown. An entire year has gone by since the day little Kinley's was taken from my belly :)

We took Kinley to her Dr. appt on Monday. It was awful. I will never EVER take her by myself again. She had to get a finger poke (more like a poke-n-squeeze for 45 seconds) and 4 shots. After the poke-n-squeeze she wouldn't let the doctor or the nurse near her. She even stared the nurse down and screamed at her after she was done collecting her sample. I felt really bad for her...and for everyone else in the 3-story building. I'm pretty sure they could all hear her screaming. She is on the small size for her age, compared to her previous weight/height check-ins - in the 35th% for height and weight, but still growing. 28.5 inches tall and 20 lbs 4 ozs. Woohoo broke the 20lb mark!! She also has a big head - it's in the 60th%. I guess it's to hold her big brain because she's awfully smart. Her doctor even said she's developmentally at a 15-18 month level instead of 12 months. She's TOO smart. She did really well with her shots - after they were over...and calmed down pretty quick because she caught sight of her shiny silver bandaid!! She sure loves anything shiny. I'm pretty sure we know where that came from.

A pic from the dr's office hanging out in Dr. Bosworth's chair.
She's not having it...

Swimming for the first time on her actual birthday

Reflections...reflections...reflections...

1 year later :)

Happy Birthday Kinley - Mommy and Daddy are so proud of the little toddler girl you are growing into. We love you so much and are so thankful to have you :)

PS - birthday post and reflections post to come soon

Update

So I haven't done an actual update on Kinley lately so here goes (please excuse me if this seems rambling and all over the place - because it probably will - there's just a lot).

Kinley is just growing away. I can't believe that she's going to be one next week. Neither can her daddy. She is no longer our little baby, but our little toddler. I'm not sure if either of us are ready to accept that. She is just toddling around all over the place. She's been able to walk since early December, but she wasn't ready. She would only try when she REALLY wanted to. After Christmas she started walking more and more. For most of January it was only her convenient means of transportation. She would only walk if she was already standing up, and would crawl if she was sitting down. For the past week and a half she's been doing more walking than crawling. The past 2 days - she's barely crawled at all. She's getting so fast too. We still have our bumps and bruises, but knowing her family, I think she'll be in for bumps and bruises for the rest of her life haha. Hopefully I'll have a video in this post for you (if I can figure out this new phone).

Here's from last weekend.

Kinley talks all the time. She tries to repeat everything we're saying. Her favorite word is hot. She'll point at the stove and say hot, or if you say hot she'll repeat it. She also says mama, dada, baba, yup, up and shit among other things. Yes...shit. I think she's trying to say sit because I'm always telling her to sit down in the cart, but it comes out shit. She likes to make the water noise shhhhhhhhhhhhhh so she's really good at the shhhhh part. Sometimes she says things that really could be i'lldoit. So we're being very careful about what we say in front of her now.

Along with walking we've started the transition to whole cow's milk this week. She seems to be doing alright so far. I guess we'll see how it goes. We started the bottle-to-cuppy transition a while ago and are down to 2 bottles a day. I think she's trying to wean herself off of them in general because she'd rather eat food than take a bottle anyways.

Kinley still only has 2 teeth. Her other bottom middle tooth decided to pop through on New Year's and that's about it. I think she's trying to get a fang, but I can't really tell. So we'll see. Don't let her lack of teeth fool you though, she can munch food down with the best of them, and there really isn't much that she can't/hasn't been able to eat. She brushes her teeth everyday with mommy :).

Kinley loooves bananas. They are without a doubt her favorite food. We cannot walk by them in the produce section without her going into hysterics until we get them in the cart. I'm not even kidding. Her play-date pals (see below) even mentioned to me one day that she sure loves bananas!! She loves all fresh fruit, and most cooked veggies including broccoli. That seems to be her favorite veggie. She is a fantastic eater!!

In exciting/sadder news (exciting for Kinley - sadder for momma) Kinley has started going to a play-date one to two days a week instead of coming to work with momma. Yes, yes a sitter, but I like to call it a play-date. It makes me feel better emotionally. She went to Clarissa with no problems whatsoever the first day and was super excited to see mommas when I picked her up...for 30 seconds. Then she was ready to get down and play some more. Clarissa has two super sweet girls that are a few years older than her and Kinley love love loves to play with them. I'm so happy that we have started doing this because I know she is happy getting to play all day, and it's good for her and momma to have some separation sometimes. Honestly though, I cried driving her there that morning, and I cried a few miles down the road after I left. It was seriously way harder than it should have been. I did get a lot done at work and the second day - I didn't cry at all! Progress!! Kinley never cried once. She was so excited to go play the second day. I couldn't ask for a happier/sweeter place for her to go. Clarissa is one of the sweetest ladies I've met out here and her girls are darling. I guess I should just say in exciting news!!!

We have her one-year doctor appt scheduled for the 13th. I didn't want to do it before our trip to Kansas because she gets a pretty good fever every time she gets her shots. Fever + flying = not a happy momma/daddy/baby/rest of people on flight. She was 28.5 inches tall and weighed 19lbs 7ozs at her ear infection doctor appt a few weeks ago. She had a double ear infection but it's all gone now! Hooray!!

So we'll be in Kansas for Kinley's first birthday!!! Hooray! We're so excited to see everyone. We're having her birthday party on the 11th probably at Christine's at 9:30am. Anyone that wants to come is more than welcome.

We had an early b-day party for her here with her GG and grandpa Green and Uncle B since grandpa will be gone most of February. It was a lot of fun. I made her a stacked birthday cake and she got a playhouse and a slide-climber from her grandparents and Uncle B and a Tinker Bell chair from us. She seriously loves it and has figured out how to climb up the slide and the climb wall part. She goes in the door to her playhouse and then comes out the door. She's sucha silly girl :)

And she's waking up from a fantastic nap! See most of you next week!! :)

Downtown Lights

The week after Christmas we met my mom, sister and her boyfriend Bryce downtown to see the lights in the square. We had fun adding Kinley to the displays :) Even though we're all bundled up, it was actually pretty warm - like 45.

Merry Christmas Everyone :)

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope that everyone had a fantastic, fun-filled Christmas. I know ours was a great time. We started opening presents Friday night so that Kinley wouldn't get tooooo overwhelmed with everything. Saturday night we Skype'd with her family in Kansas so that they could see her open their gifts. I'm not sure how well they could see her, but it was an attempt that I'm sure we'll try again in the future. Christmas morning we opened presents from mommy and daddy and Santa and then drove up to her Grandma and Grandpa Green's to have Christmas with them and her TT and Uncle B. I'm glad we decided to break everything up because she definitely would've been overwhelmed. She has more toys now than she knows what to do with. I'm glad we get to break them up between work and home. We also converted the front living room into her toy room so that the family room isn't completely jam-packed with toys and cars and babies and books and puzzles. She still pushes everything in here, but at least it has it's own place now. Kinley enjoyed some yummy Christmas dinner that afternoon, and then a snooze with her Uncle B. We had a pretty fun Christmas Break. Enjoy some pics below and I'll add another post for Christmas Break / New Years!
