February 9th, 2011 - Part 1

Today started as an ordinary day - 40 weeks pregnant. K had already asked several times if we could please ask the dr for an induction as he wanted our baby here a few weeks ago. I agreed to see what the dr would say. Baby had played the guitar on my rib cage for long enough. I was tired, sore, felt ginormous, and ready to meet my little. I couldn't wait to find out if she had her momma's hair and her daddy's blue eyes like I dreamed of. If she was a huge as she felt in my belly, and if she would know her momma and daddy.

I went to the dr hoping that maybe...just maybe I had progressed past the almost nothing I had been since the beginning of 40 weeks. No such luck. In fact I think it was smaller in there than ever with an extremely high BP that didn't go down with 30 minutes of resting in a dimly lit room. Oh and my pee in a cup dip-n-stik showed up different colors thanks to some awesome proteins. Woohoo. What's that doc? Due to all of this I need to go downstairs for blood work? and come back in two hours? We're having a baby today? Oh a C-Section at 4...well I better get K on the phone so he can get off work and get down here. Daddy's wish came true, but it wasn't quite what he had in mind.

An hour later, and several texts between my fam and the in-laws (that are scattered around the country without one being within 600 miles of us), I met K at home who had inhaled his Taco Bell (no food for me - sadface) and showered off his work dirt. I packed our bag...asked him if he was ready?! and we sat together on the couch the last twenty minutes we would spend just K and A for forever until it was time to go...
